Job Ramos is a visual artist and researcher. His practice moves between installation, cinema, sound, writing, and performance, and often develops in relation to specific contexts and long-term working processes. His work articulates situated research processes linked to particular places, temporalities, and forms of relation, frequently through practices of repetition, displacement, and sustained observation. Within this framework, he has recurrently explored the interstices between nature and artifice, altering uses, rhythms, and modes of perception in order to generate situations of estrangement and attention.
He holds a PhD in Advanced Studies in Artistic Productions from the University of Barcelona, with the dissertation Exposed to the Elements: Interstices Between Word and Place. Site-Specific Film at the Astacifactoria of Molí de les Fonts (2025). His teaching experience combines courses related to artistic creation, experimental cinema, and research processes.
He has presented solo exhibitions at institutions and art centres such as Sala Montcada at Fundació “la Caixa”, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), Bòlit Centre d’Art Contemporani de Girona, Mataró Art Contemporani, and the Sismògraf Festival. He has also participated in international group exhibitions and programmes at venues including IASPIS – International Artists Studio Program in Sweden (Stockholm), Matucana 100 (Santiago de Chile), Cornell University (New York), Arts Santa Mònica, CA2M, and the Turku Biennial (Finland), among others.
Alongside his artistic practice, he has developed curatorial, programming, and knowledge-transfer projects connected to contemporary artistic practices. His research has also unfolded through publications, lectures, collaborative projects, and mediation activities, sustaining a hybrid practice between artistic production, research, and teaching. He has received, among others, research and creation grants from the Government of Catalonia, CONCA, Barcelona Crea, Girona Crea, and VEGAP.
